PERFORMANCE COMMITMENT

Please note that as we are NOT a project choir, we assume you will be committing to all our performances unless told otherwise. We are carrying out this survey in order to ensure good numbers and an excellent level of performance - thus upholding our already good repute and standing with our partners and to deliver the best possible level of performance to our audience.

Apart from the two Tanglin Tree performances which are already confirmed, your (favourable) responses will be factored into our decisions as the KAM team work out what is artistically in the best interests in the development of Schola Cantorum Singapore and her members. As much of these are ongoing negotiations, kindly keep details of these potential performances confidential until further notice. A schedule for the rest of the year will be given out after this exercise has concluded.

Your responses ASAP, latest 29 May (Fri) 22:00hrs is appreciated.

MUSICIANSHIP/MUSIC LITERACY COURSE

According to our last survey, there was very little demand for a music literacy course for a large majority of the choir. However, we would like to still offer a music-literacy/musicianship/music pedagogy course for interested members, to be held on a separate day e.g. Saturday morning/afternoon. Depending on specific needs and profiles of participants, a placement test maybe given to ensure quality and progress. These courses may be open to public but Schola Cantorum members will be given preferential rates. When sufficient interest and signups are garnered, we will start a new class.

The course is concurrently a form of preparation for studies at the International Kodály Institute of the Liszt Academy of Music (Hungary). This musicianship course is planned as 3 levels, each level c.a. 15 hrs i.e. total 45hrs of contact time (i.e. training with instructor). Upon completion, one should be able to handle with (relative) ease, at least the diploma level musicianship tests at the International Kodaly Institute.

For more information, please write in to KAM General Manager Pei Wen.
