24th International Kodaly Symposium 2019 In Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia
Here are some of the highlights for the 24th International Kodaly Symposium (IKS) held in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia from 5-9 August 2019.
There were more than 500 participants and speakers from around the world and several of our KAM conductors and staff including KAM director Mr. Albert Tay were in attendance at the IKS 2019.
We witnessed a most impressive opening and closing ceremony at the IKS 2019, a huge variety of workshops, presentations, and concerts. One of the most exciting and memorable part of the IKS 2019 was the learning journey to Sarawak Cultural Village as all participants got a chance to visit and attend a series of outdoor workshops. Everyone had fun in learning and music-making for the past one week.
It was indeed a fruitful and meaningful music learning trip for us all and we look forward to the next Asia Kodaly Symposium 2020 to be held in Singapore and IKS 2021 in Katowice, Poland!
