Kodály Academy of Music Singapore presents its second virtual Studiorum series as we dive deep into the topic of rehearsals and performances. With a roundtable discussion between Dionne Lim, Mike Chiang, and Albert Tay, the session aim to discuss how you can turn your music studio classes, rehearsals, and performances into an uncompromising virtual experience like no other.


Mike CHIANG Music Director, Conductor, Producer
Homegrown musician Mike Chiang is the Music Director and Conductor of Nanyang Philharmonic Chinese Orchestra and Nanyang Polytechnic Chinese Orchestra, and is also a pioneering musician of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO). In 2017, he collaborated with renowned Hollywood composer Harry Gregson-Williams, composer of The Martian, Shriek, Armageddon, to record percussion tracks for Warner Bros.’ 2018 blockbuster “MEG”. At present, he is under the tutelage of Maestro Xu Zhi Jun in China Conservatory of Music, Masters in Orchestral Conducting and is also widely renowned in the local arts scene.

Dionne LIM Vocal Coach, Acapella Instructor, Performer
Dionne Lim is a freelance music educator in several music schools in Singapore, and works with primary and secondary school choirs locally. As a vocal coach, she has nurtured and trained students from ages 5 to 78. Dionne has performed and competed at prestigious events internationally, and is the co-founder of Singaporean a cappella group, 1023. She has had a decade of professional experience in Marketing & Communications, and currently leads the Marketing team for award-winning adult choir, ONE Chamber Choir.

Albert TAY Director, Kodály Academy of Music (Singapore)
Composer-conductor Albert Tay is an internationally renowned musician, educator and adjudicator. Apart from guest conducting, he delivers keynote lectures and professional development courses for musicians and educators and provides workshops for choral and instrumental ensembles. His work has taken him to numerous cities in Croatia, Indonesia, Hungary, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, the UK and the USA on invitation by award-winning choirs as well as various national institutions, associations or foundations for choirs and/or education.
