Congratulations to our Founder and Director, Albert Tay!
We are proud to announce that our Founder and Director, Albert Tay, was the first Singaporean musician to be awarded the Gold Cross of Merit of the Republic of Hungary (Magyar Köztársasági Arany Érdemkereszt) in recognition of his efforts in promoting classical music and the Kodály Concept in Asia.
The medal is one of the nation’s highest awards for civilians and is awarded by the President of Hungary to Hungarian citizens and foreigners for distinguished service to Hungary. The founding of Kodály Academy of Music (Singapore) and the biennial Asia Kodály Symposium were acknowledged as significant contributors to the popularisation of the Kodály heritage in Singapore and throughout Asia.
It is our privilege to bring together people from all over the world, and we would like to thank everyone who continuously supported and believed in our vision, “To inspire, promote and bring about better understanding of arts and culture to the masses through the Kodály Concept”.
Thank you to the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music (Hungary) and Prof. László Norbert Nemes for the continued collaboration during the Asia Kodály Symposium. A further thank you to our patrons, colleagues, volunteers, speakers, performers and participants for your years of supporting our educational activities!
