Singaporean conductor Adrian Tan has established a reputation as one of the leading
conductors of his generation. As the Music Director of the Singapore Wind Symphony and
the Braddell Heights Symphony Orchestra since 2012, he has been recognized for his
dynamic leadership, innovative programming, impactful community outreach initiatives and
passionate advocacy for new music, especially on the behalf of Singaporean composers. He
also served as the Music Director of the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra in Ho Chi Minh City,
Vietnam from 2014-2018.
Adrian enjoys an international career as a guest conductor having appeared with the
Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, Shenzhen Grand Theatre Philharmonic (China),
Siam Opera, (Thailand), Siam Philharmonic (Thailand), Ji Yin Wind Symphony (Taiwan),
Taipei City Philharmonic (Taiwan), The Bridges Collective (Australia), KLM Orchestra (The
Netherlands) UiTM Symphony Orchestra (Malaysia), Singapore Chinese Orchestra and the
Filharmonica ‘Mihail Jora” di Bacau (Romania). He was artist-in-residence at the Tecknologi
MARA and the Tubamania International Music Festival, and served on the competition juries
of the Taiwan International Band Festival and the Festival Orkestra SBP (Malaysia).
During the COVID-19, he initiated the #SGConductors community on Facebook which led to
the creation of a series of Virtual Conducting Masterclasses in collaboration with Maestro
Yeh Tsung. He was also a founding member of the team that created apART.sg – a digital
arts festival showcasing Singaporean artists & performances, with a focus on works created
and shared during COVID-19.
