The 4th Asia Kodály Symposium (AKS), will be held from 17-23 August 2020. Hosted in Singapore for the very first time, this edition will also be the first-ever Asia Kodály Symposium to be held virtually!
Filled with over 30 hours of top-notch ‘live’ synchronous and asynchronous content by more than 20 top musicians, thinkers and educators from around the world, the symposium will focus on the “Digitalisation of Music Education, Composition and Performance”. Apart from the Kodály Concept, you will get to learn about digital tools, voice and piano pedagogy, musicianship training, roundtable discussions on solfege, composition and conducting, and a whole host of other ideas that will be useful during these unprecedented times as the world copes with the COVID-19 pandemic. Sessions will be recorded and available upon request for a limited time period in case you are unavailable due to timezone or personal matters.
Since the inaugural Asia Kodály Symposium in 2014, the biennial event has travelled to different cities in Asia and has since touched the lives of more than 5000 people globally. Organised by the Kodály Academy of Music (Singapore), this year’s edition will see partners Schola Cantorum Singapore Ltd (non-profit choir organisation), the Hungarian Embassy of Singapore and the Kodály Institue of the Liszt Academy of Music (Hungary) come together in hopes of continuing to inspire musicians, music educators, conductors and students, to spread the love of music. This year, we also celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations between Hungary – Singapore and Kodály Academy of Music (Singapore)’s 5th anniversary.
We look forward to your participation at the symposium.
