Programme Synopsis

While “digital natives” negotiate the digital world with ease and aplomb, “digital immigrants” such as myself can feel overwhelmed by the constant and rapid digitalisation of our work (and personal) lives! In this presentation, I set out to explore the “The Digitalisation of Piano Teaching and Performance” from my personal experience. From reluctant first encounters with my now much-treasured digital pianos, through attempts to improve my teaching with on-line videos, to the new modes of teaching and performance forced on us by the current covid-19 pandemic, it remains a thought-provoking, challenging but always interesting journey.
