Programme Synopsis

The session will explore the challenges faced by piano teachers when teaching online, the effects this has on their practice and particularly student-teacher interaction. Suggestions for engaging students in an online space will be discussed. Implications for interaction in piano lessons beyond the ‘virtual’ space will be embedded into the discourse. The presentation will conclude with suggestions for future practice as we move into a post-covid world, and, hopefully back into the teaching studio.
