As founding director of the Kodaly Academy of Music (Singapore), Albert oversees the arts company that has been spearheading the Asia Kodaly Symposium (AKS) in collaboration with his alma mater, the Kodaly Institute of the Liszt Academy of Music. Albert taught choral conducting at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), and trained Ministry of Education (MOE) music teachers at the Academy of Singapore Teachers (AST).
Albert was conductor for the premieres of Dr. John Sharpley’s (USA-SG) chamber opera “The Tanglin Tree” and Luo Mai Shuo’s (PRC) “Fighter Writer Yu” for soloist, Chinese orchestra and chorus. Albert was chorus master for the live-to-screen projection of “Lord of the Rings”, Richard Wagner’s opera “The Flying Dutchman”, Disney-Square Enix’s “Kingdom Hearts World Tour” and has commissioned and premiered numerous Singaporean works ranging from opera, choral to solo voice. His choirs have consistently garnered top reviews and prizes internationally.
The NAFA alumnus credits his teachers, Professor Peter Erdei, Leong Yoon Pin, Professor Laszlo Nemes, Dr. Kelly Tang, Jennifer Tham and Dr. Zechariah Goh as major influences in his journey as a musician, and is grateful to the International Kodaly Society, National Arts Council (Singapore) and NAFA for scholarships that supported his degree and post-graduate studies. Albert was awarded the professional title of Magister Chori and is an honorary member of The Association of Croatian Choral Directors.
